Spring Clean Your Skin Regime
You always remember to change your wardrobe for spring — but what about your skin care routine? Here are a few changes to make this season to spring clean our skin regime.
The chilly temperatures and dry air in winter can make our skin itchy, and tend to make skin conditions worse, such as eczema, rosacea, and psoriasis. So as the weather warms up, try to switch up your spring skin care routine for glowy and healthy skin!
Don’t forget about SPF
While it’s important to wear sunscreen all year long, opting for at least an SPF 30 for spring and summer is a good idea. Go for a waterproof, broad-spectrum sunscreen and re-apply 2-3 times the day. If you have acne-prone skin go for a gel texture to prevent clogged pores. Don’t forget to apply it on your arms, legs, neck, chest, and any other areas exposed to the sun.
Swap thick moisturiser for a lighter gel
In warm and humid weather, you’re more likely to sweat when being outside. For spring skin care, swap your heavy moisturiser for a lighter lotion if your skin is normal, or skip it altogether if you have oily, acne-prone skin. Go for Soothing Skin Gel by What Skin Needs, which absorbs quickly and provides long-term hydration leaving your skin supple.
Exfoliate your way to glowy complexion
Exfoliating is a great way of getting rid of fry, dead skin cells after long winter and restore a fresh radiance. Try to exfoliate once a week and avoid harsh, grainy products that can irritate your skin. This will help your moisturiser absorb deeper and quicker into your skin, leaving your skin with an even texture.
Say ‘NO’ to heavy foundations
Say ‘NO!’ to your heavy foundations, spring is the perfect time to show your natural glow. Warmer days usually mean sweating. Additional sweat mixed with foundation not only can look messy but it can also cause clogged pores or even acne.
